More than 150 years
Het Wapen van Middelie exists more than 150 years. We are proud of that! At first as a combined grocery shop and pub. The name refers to the former sign municipal; het Wapen van Middelie. The logo still has the earlier elements but we use them in a modern way. That’s what we want: keep the good things of former days in a modern way.
A beautiful location
If you know the surroundings, you agree. Here you have everything what you need to relax. The beautiful watery landscape with waving reed. Only a few kilometres distance to the IJsselmeer (the biggest lake of Holland). There you find the charming towns of the IJsselmeer: Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Edam, Volendam, Monnickendam and Marken. And did you ever make a cycling-tour in the World Heritage of de Beemster during the blossom of the apple trees? Where you buy your fruit at the farm. You are looking for some action? Amsterdam is nearby! 20 minutes by bus or car.

A personal approach, that’s important. So that you feel at home in our hotel. Our six rooms and apartment are all different. Because nobody is the same. We find our inspiration in the beautiful surroudings. That’s why our rooms are called Reed or Land of Water. For reservation fill in the form, and we send you more information by email.
Breakfast together
After a good night’s rest a breakfast is important! You have a busy day to come (or not!). In the living-room (or outside on the terrace if the weather is nice) you can have breakfast with the other guests and share experiences of trips you’ve made. No obligations of course!
Dinner?
The hotel has a very good restaurant. In a relaxed atmosphere you and the other guests can have a dinner. On the website you can read the menu. By nice weather the chef-kok will make diner on the terras.

The pub
The pub or terrace; the place where you meet people
Originality the place where the people of Middelie meet each other. Some of the clubs have there weekly activities in het Wapen van Middelie, such as play at draughts, play jass and play at billiards. But you do not have to be a member to have a drink! During a winterwalk it is nice to warm up at the fire on the hearth. Have a warm chocalate milk with applepie, or something stronger! Or, in the summer, take a rest from a cycling tour with a cool drink. The parasols at the terrace are unfold!
